Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been found to manifest in individuals with HIV (Katz and Nevid). The severity of PTSD in these individuals corresponds to HIV symptoms, trauma before their diagnosis, decreased social support, negative life events, and stigma (Katz and Nevid).
