Studies show that regular attendance at HIV support groups can improve the well-being and quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Compass Services is a special program offered exclusively at MetroHealth for people living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to support and guide people living with HIV/AIDS along the path to wellness. We’ve developed various support groups to meet patients where they are in their journey.

Peer-to-peer support from trained navigators
People living with HIV/AIDS are uniquely qualified to understand, encourage, and support each other. Peer Coaches are people who have been able to successfully manage HIV through the use of medications, supportive services and other resources. MetroHealth’s peer support program links “Peer Coaches” with people who need support. Peer Coaches help people who are newly diagnosed with HIV or just beginning medical treatment for HIV. They also sit with people living with HIV/AIDS who are admitted to the hospital.
All knitting supplies (needles, yarn) & instruction provided. No knitting experience necessary.
Compass Social Game Night
This group is open to all people living with HIV — you do not need to be a MetroHealth patient to attend. It’s a night of board games and cards. Dinner is always provided.
Secret Private Facebook Group
This Facebook Group is a secret private facebook group for offered exclusively at MetroHealth for people living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to support and guide people living with HIV/AIDS along the path to wellness. The group is a 24/7 support group experience. MetroHealth strives to respond to every comment. Metro reviews comments and those that are off-topic or promoting a commercial product are deleted. Members are vetted prior to being allowed to join. The guidelines encourage a basic level of civility – disagreements may arise, but mutual respect is a must, and profanity or abusive language are not tolerated. To ensure all group members are treated with respect, Metro reserves the right to block spam, defamatory, off-topic, or offensive comments.
